Research Interests

My research is driven by a commitment to advancing equity and social justice in teacher and school leader education. I examine how preservice teachers and aspiring leaders reflect on their learning and leadership experiences to better understand issues of power, privilege, and culturally responsive pedagogy. In particular, I am interested in how aspiring teachers and school leader implement culturally responsive practices in classrooms to create more inclusive learning spaces. Beyond preservice preparation, I study the role of alternative teacher certification programs in supporting diverse pathways into the profession, as well as the impact of professional development initiatives that strengthen STEM teaching for both preservice and inservice educators.
