Enrollment
Delaware State University Early Childhood Laboratory School is a high-quality early education and childcare experience for young children, toddlers through Kindergarten Prep. We pride ourselves on actively demonstrating openness, acceptance and inclusion. We have a non-discriminatory admissions policy, and all are welcomed. Children are enrolled based on spacing availability and age. Families are added to the waitlist upon the date of receipt of their Pre-enrollment Registration Form. Currently, we are full and are accepting pre-enrollment registration forms for your child to be added to our wait list. While there is mention of a registration fee, but this is only applicable once you receive word that you’ve been accepted for enrollment. We look forward to your child and family joining us on this educational journey.
When enrollment space is available:
- Parents are notified via email and have two days to reply before the space is given to the next family on the waitlist.
- Upon confirmation, they will receive a form to complete so they can pay the registration fee (non-refundable and due annually $50.00) as well as the Enrollment Packet, schedule an intake date and a start date.
- Child is enrolled and may begin attending the Delaware State University Early Childhood Laboratory School on their agreed upon start date. An updated physical and immunization is required within the first 30 days of enrollment.
Tuition and Payment Options
All accounts must be set up in the Cashier’s Office and will receive a CDL account number. The person responsible for the account must use their Social Security number on the Business Office Form. An annual non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 is required at the time of registration. The tuition for attendance in DSU’s Early Childhood Laboratory School is income-based from September-June. There is a $50 monthly discount for additional siblings enrolled in the Lab School.
Payment can be made by credit card, money order, cash or check in the Administration Building, 1st floor Cashier’s Office, 9:00 am-4:00 pm M-F or online through the NelNet Payment Portal.
The University accepts self-arranged Purchase of Care through the Division of Social Services- Delaware Health and Social Services. Parents/guardians are responsible for paying the University for services rendered and completing and returning all documentation before receiving a reimbursement from DSS.
A late fee of $35.00 will be placed on accounts the Monday after payments are due. Your child will not be permitted to return to school without a receipt of payment.
In the unfortunate event that you choose to withdraw your child, you must provide a 2-week notice. If your CDL account has an outstanding balance, the account will go to collections after 90 days.
