Jason Bourke, PhD

jason bourkeDr. Jason Bourke is serving as the Interim Director of the Master of Public Administration Program at Delaware State University. Before joining Delaware State in July of 2018, Jason attended the University of Delaware for his M.A. and Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy. His research interests include public policy analysis, policy history, political economy, economic development, economic justice and housing policy. Most of which has been situated in the context of Wilmington, Delaware. His instructional history includes courses on Public Policy, Leadership, Human Resources and Information Technology at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Bourke’s professional and community service work include helping build organizational and community development capacity with Blueprint Communities Delaware; building civic and strategic capacities as well as government-constituent communication channels and light community organizing as a Community Liaison with the City of Wilmington’s former Office of Neighborhood Development; helping administer the negotiations of the Wilmington Partnership featuring Delaware State University, the University of Delaware and the City of Wilmington; assisting with the archiving of historic documents in the City of Wilmington’s Planning Department; and serving as the Principal Investigator on the reconstruction of the How Wilmington Compares data-portal.
