Biography

Brody Bluemel is the Chairperson and Associate Professor in the Department of Languages & Literatures at Delaware State University. He has expertise in Applied Linguistics, Chinese and German. His research focuses on educational technology, bilingual education, and dual-language immersion. He has conducted research on the use of corpora in language pedagogy, and previously led a Title VI IRS project focused on dual-enrollment in Spanish and Chinese in the elementary and middle schools of the state of Delaware. He has a fellowship (2023-2024) in the inaugural PROPEL HBCU Faculty Fellows Academy.

He currently leads a Title VI UISFL project that resulted in the development of a certificate of multiliteracy program. Recently, he was the sub-award recipient, in partnership with Penn State University, of a new Title VI IRS project researching Teacher Awareness and Use of Technology in the Foreign Language Classroom. He also has a forthcoming digital book publication on Language Instruction Using Immersive Technology.
