Charles Cange, PhD
Charles Cange is an Associate Professor in our department. He completed his PhD in Global Health, Trauma Studies and Medical Anthropology at the University of Washington and his masters in Urban Sociology at the University of Paris, France. For his dissertation fieldwork, he spent several years living in the Middle East (Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt) where he learned Arabic and conducted community-based research on the long-term health impacts of the Gulf War (1990-1).
He has extensive experience with long-term effects of post-disaster trauma among vulnerable populations, including trauma and HIV/AIDS prevention and climate change and mental health research. Before his academic career, he worked in international relations with positions at OECD, the United Nations Environment Program and the US Embassies in Paris and Madagascar.
