Anwar Ouassini, PhD

Dr. Anwar Ouassini is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice. His research interests include political sociology, sociology of religion, and comparative criminal justice systems. He is currently working on projects that explore the intersection of race and religious identities in the Arab World, the relationship between civil society, social movements, and democratic development in West Africa, and Criminal Justice Reform in the Maghreb. Dr. Ouassini teaches courses in Sociological Theory, Theories of Justice, Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice, and Sociology of Culture.
