Spanish (Minor)

Introduction

The Spanish minor cultivates students into bilingual global citizens through the development of linguistic, cultural, social, and historical competence in the target language and culture(s).  

Objectives

  1. Develop students’ linguistic, cultural, social, and historical understanding of the target language and culture(s) through the implementation of innovative strategies that empower students to use the foreign language as a communicative tool.  
  2. Cultivate students into bi- or multi-lingual global citizens capable of drawing upon their understanding of culture and language to break down barriers of discourse, gain knowledge of the world, and develop a functional awareness of cultural relativity.
